Aus der RCA-Red-Seal-Serie stammt auch diese Aufnahme aus der Academy of Music in Philadelphia. Produzent John Pfeiffer nahm die Einspielungen am 8. Januar 1969 (Billy the Kid) und am 28. Mai 1969 (Appalachian Spring Suite) mit einem 4-Spur-System auf. Das XRCD Re-Mastering griff auf eben dieses 4-Spur Master zurück um eine neue Stereoabmischung zu erschaffen.
