Dieses Album ist der Verbeugung Winston Mas vor dem Bassisten Ray Brown. Dieser spielte "Happy Coat" nur 123 Tage vor seinem Tod ein. Mit im Trio sind Shoto Osabe am Piano und Harold Jones am Bass. Das Aufnahmeteam unter Erik Zobler und Al Schmitt kann 15 Grammys unter sich aufteilen und nachbearbeitet wurde von Paul Stubblebine von den analogen Masterbändern. Produzent Al Schmitt produzierte ansonsten auch so unbekannte Alben wie den Soundtrack zu Hatari, Aja von Steely Dan, Toto IV und diverse Diana Krall Alben. Man hört es. Aufgenommen wurde in den Capitol Studios in Hollywood, Kalifornien im legendären Saal A.
